To All Residents and Families of Lake Charles Care Center:
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the precautions we have taken related to the recent news regarding the Swine Flu. Most importantly, we want you to know that we are taking this news very seriously, particularly those cases confirmed in Louisiana.
Our primary goal at this stage is to take all necessary steps to limit exposure to our facility. We have initiated plans and procedures that include, but are not limited to facility sanitization, visitor restrictions, resident assessments, and staff education and readiness.
At this time, visitors are allowed in the facility with restrictions. Before entering, you will be asked to perform a “self-assessment” and be able to answer “no” to all of the following questions. Do I have a fever? Do I have a sore throat? Am I coughing? Do my muscles ache? Do I feel ill? Have I traveled out of the country in the last 3 months? If you can answer “yes” to any of these questions, we will ask that you not enter the building.
Any visitor who is cleared to enter the facility will be directed to the nurses' station for additional guidance on proper sanitization procedures.
We will continue to monitor this situation very closely and will do our best to keep you informed as information becomes available. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us at the facility if you have any questions or need additional information.
As always, we thank you for placing your trust in Lake Charles Care Center.
Sincerely,
David Grotefend
Administrator
